Damian read History at the University of Manchester before completing the CPE and then the Bar Vocational Course. After being called to the Bar in 1992, he qualified as a Solicitor in 1998 following completion of his training contract with Whittles Solicitors in Manchester and Leeds.
In the course of training, Damian acted for union members who had been injured at work, whilst driving those and who had contracted Vibration White Finger through their employment. He was actively involved in test litigation concerning VWF against British Rail Engineering Limited.
On qualifying, Damian moved to Beachcroft and later to Plexus Law where he acted for major commercial and household insurers. He has extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of personal injury litigation including accidents at work and in public places, accidents on the road, fatal accidents, sporting accidents and accidents involving animals.
Damian has experience of claims arising out of clinical negligence having acted for a number of NHS Trusts in the course of being employed by Hempsons in Harrogate. He ran his own caseload in addition to assisting a partner with birth injury claims arising out of failures in obstetric management.
More recently, he was a member of the complex claims team at Minster Law in York and acted for those who had suffered serious injuries following road traffic accidents and at accidents at work.
His interests include contemporary fiction, travel (especially to America and the Far East), music and Formula One. He is a former commissioned assistant Beaver Scout leader and hopes one day to be able to play video games better than his two sons.
